Question for you : Why would you send a single video in a single email to a single person in this world of marketing automation that we live in?

Hi, I’m Mark Bullock and the Co-founder of Videosocials.net and phoneBlogger.net. And through various programs and various times, we’ve recommended people to reach out individually. Why would you do that? Well, I’m going to tell you a story.

So when was the last time you opened up what was obviously mass produced junk mail? Probably not very often. Now, if you’re doing your emails properly and you’re doing through a Constant Contact or some sort of email system, it shouldn’t show up as junk mail, but we all get so many newsletters, don’t we? So if it’s coming across as just another newsletter or just another something else, you’re going to have a percentage of people open it.

But if you were to send a video — just imagine this — if you were to send a video to a V. I. P. — somebody that’s important to you, somebody that you want to see that video — with the following phrase, ‘I’ve recorded this with you in mind.’ Guess what. They’re going to open it. They’re going to watch the video and they’re going to get back to you.

So you just deepened your relationship with them. You just gave yourself 100% follow through rate, right? So yes, you obviously you’re not going to be able to do that for every one of your 5000 contacts. That’s not what I’m talking about.

This is for those that are really important to you. And with the concept and the understanding that all word-of-mouth marketing is about relationships.

So if you’re not willing to spend a little bit of time on those most important relationships, and you treat everyone as just somebody else on my mailing list, well, that’s the kind of results that you’re going to get. You know, the 10 or 15 or 20% open rate. The three or 5 or 10% click-through rate.

If you want somebody to see something, send it to them directly without anybody else involved. And let them know that you were thinking about them when you created it, whether that be video or text or anything else.

Just a little bonus tip or if you want to do pinpoint marketing for those that are the most important people in your business life.
