Does every video that you do need to have a specific purpose and a track that you’re following for how you deliver it?

Hi, I’m Mark Bullock, co -founder of Videosocials.net and phoneBlogger.net .

And, you know, the answer to that is fairly obvious — no, it doesn’t.

If you intend to create, you know, a series, if you intend to create on a specific topic, if you open the video with the purpose of this video is X, Y and Z, then that video pretty much needs to stay on that topic and stay where it’s at. But I think sometimes that we forget that blogging, whether it be video, text, audio, whatever it is, is designed — or was designed initially — for the concept of getting what’s on your mind out to your audience. So, where does all this come into play?

Every once in a while, I’ve recorded — and I’ve seen others that have recorded — that when they get finished they’re like, ‘Oh, you know, I kind of went off topic — I went a different direction — I forgot to talk about X, Y or Z’ but then the person giving them feedback goes, ‘But that was so valuable because I really got, you know, X, Y and Z for myself.’ So, maybe it was slightly different than what you may have planned when you presented.

And so the question is, is that video postable ? I would say that as a blog post, yes. If somebody’s getting value out of it, even if you have other things that you intended to plug into it — or ideas or concepts to plug into it — do it again or do it… do a second one or a follow up or something else. In other words, your audience, as you develop an audience, wants to know what’s in your head — wants to know what’s in your heart — and what you’re thinking. So, allow them to see it and hear it a little less prepared on occasion is absolutely fine.

Hope you found that valuable. If you did, there’s lots of other tips at Videosocials.net/Academy.

Again, Mark — Videosocials.net and phoneBlogger.net. Have a great day.
