Are you freakin’ phenomenal at what you do? That’s wonderful. And do you realize that it’s not only your job to be freakin’ phenomenal at what you do but it’s also your job to be freakin’ phenomenal at communicating what you do to the world around you?
Hi. I’m Mark Bullock. I’m the co-founder of Videosocials.net and phoneBlogger.net and I’ve been working with attorneys and CPAs and financial professionals, basically Ph.D., JD, MDs for several decades. And I just find it astonishing that so many are almost taught NOT to market themselves when they’re in school. And that’s the exact opposite of what you need to do.
You need to realize that it’s not about selling. We’re not talking about selling — after all who wants an infomercial in their social media feeds, right? Nobody. What we want is we want valuable information, and we want to get to know you. We want to get to see if we can identify with you. We want to see whether or not we can relate to you. And that requires you just being you, relaying the kind of phenomenal work that you do — relaying the kind of difference that you make for others.
So, stop trying to sell. Stop trying to hide. Start trying to be willing to be generous with what you know and the difference that it makes with others. If you can do that on camera, whether it be short videos for video podcasts or — excuse me, for video blogging, or articles that you’re writing or podcasts — even podcast interviews with other professionals. Whatever it is, be willing to get out there and be willing to get over your own concerns and worries about others… what others may think of you or how things may… how you may be judged, because what’s gonna get judged is the value that you provide. And if you’re the kind of person that is out there to provide that value — in other words, you’re phenomenal at it — then it’s time to get phenomenal at being out there and letting the world know just how valuable you can be for them.
Hope you found this valuable. If you did, you’ll find lots more at Videosocials.net/Academy and there’ll be a link below. I’m Mark Bullock, the co-founder of Videosocials.net. Have a great day.
