Have you ever gotten a newsletter from a law firm or any other professional firm, larger firm, and you know, there’s lots of, you know, acknowledging this person for this promotion or that person for that promotion, etc. You know, and I’ve always personally thought, you know, who cares? You know, that’s not really a great marketing idea. It may, you know, if your audience is really following your organization and, you know, it really cares about the people that are involved with it, there’s certainly some potential value there, but it’s not really a … an attention getter or grabber.
Hi, I’m Mark Bullock, co -founder of Videosocials.net and phoneBlogger.net . And we have a member of Videosocials — Yifel He — and he is a very experienced, very compassionate immigration attorney. And he just did a video where he acknowledged a colleague for striking out on their own and creating their own practice. And then he talked about, you know, why he had done the same, you know, years ago and really give his why and why he was passionate about what he did and then he tied it back in at the end to, that’s what he hoped that his colleague was going to do. And I just thought it was brilliant.
Why is it brilliant? Because 1) We are acknowledging someone but we’re acknowledging them in a meaningful way ; 2) It’s tied in directly with what you’re about when you’re presenting and you’re acknowledging someone. In other words, it’s what’s in it for you that you’re acknowledging them, but in the best way possible.
And so that being said, I encourage you… it’s a great marketing video and it’s a great way of expanding your relationship with whoever it is that you’re acknowledging — for you to acknowledge some major move that someone has made, especially if you can tie it into your audience who are paying attention to you and what you’re up to.
Just a quick tip — an idea. And again, if you found this tip valuable, you’ll find plenty more at Videosocials.net/Academy . Again, Mark Bullock co-founder, Videosocials.net. Have a great day.
