Mark Bullock, Co-Founder and COO of Videosocials.net and phoneBlogger.net, asks that the next time it’s your turn to provide feedback to a fellow member or guest, look for the fun. Fight the human instinct we have to find things to improve upon. The more fun you find, the more fun you’ll have.

Videosocials is video blogging together, fun and done. So I just want to focus on one word: fun.
Hi, I’m Mark Bullock. I’m the co-founder of Videosocials.net and phone Blogger.net. And what am I talking about? Well, we can have fun once we kind of get used to this whole idea of being on camera, first of all.
Second of all, we can have fun in the feedback. Well, if you’re nervous and you’ve not given a lot of feedback in the past and you see somebody present and you’re new to this, your tendency is ‘I’m not sure what I should say. What I shouldn’t say.’ You know, they kind of did this, kind of did that. That looked good to me, but I wasn’t so sure about that.’ And so your tendency is to jump to being critical because we’re human beings, that’s what we do. Instead, think about making it fun.
Somebody said today, ‘your cat was trying to steal the show.’ Well, the cat was was behind a window and we all saw the cat. That was kind of fun. Obviously, the cat didn’t steal the show, but it made it a little bit fun.
So I ask you to consider ‘How can you make your feedback fun?’ Because if we have fun with this and we get… we have fun when we’re getting feedback… in the rest of the world, we would normally be getting criticism or being critiqued, which is not what our feedback framework is for.
Feedback framework is to be supportive and encouraging, and to give pointers for areas that they might consider doing something differently, that might work a little better for them next time around.
So how do you make it fun? Well, have fun. Pay attention to what’s going on. See if there’s something fun in there that you can attach to or that you can point out. When did they smile? When did they have a little wry joke on the side or something like that? Bring out the fun. It will make it more fun for them to do. It will make it more fun for you to do, and your videos will become more fun for your audience to enjoy.
Again, Mark Video socials.net, phone Blogger.net. Have a great day.
