There is an old adage about catching more flies with sugar than with vinegar, and like catching flies, if you want people to do something, or read something, or listen to something, you will get a much better response if you encourage them rather than telling them what they should do. The natural state for most of us is to be a little rebellious if somebody we don’t know starts to tell us what to do. Remember that, and encourage your readers, viewers, and listeners, instead.
